Overview Our Online Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Training provides workers, supervisors, and employers with the knowledge needed to recognize, control, and prevent exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). This course is fully aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030, which outlines the required elements of employee training for BBP exposure control. What This Course Covers Participants learn practical, workplace-ready skills through engaging modules and real-world scenarios tailored for industries such as construction, utilities, public works, water/wastewater, healthcare support, and emergency response. Topics include: • Understanding bloodborne pathogens, modes of transmission, and exposure risks • Requirements of OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard • Engineering and work practice controls • Use and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE) • Exposure Control Plans and employee responsibilities • Handling sharps, contaminated materials, and regulated waste • Post-exposure procedures, reporting, and medical follow-up • Hepatitis B vaccination requirements and declination process • Housekeeping practices to reduce contamination Who Should Take This Course This training is designed for any employee whose duties may involve reasonably anticipated contact with blood or OPIM, including: • Construction and maintenance crews • Water and wastewater operators • Safety professionals • First aid/CPR responders • Facility and custodial teams • Public works and utilities staff
